On September 6, 2021, passed peacefully with family at his side in Rangiora, aged 80 years. Dearly loved and devoted husband of Noeline, loving father and father-in-law of Peter and Sarah (Wilden), Gary and Angela (Auckland), Chris and Jo (Christchurch), and cherished Gramps of Thomas, Campbell, Grace, and George. Loved brother of Elva (Darfield). Loved brother and brother-in-law of the late Graham and the late Annette Avery. Special thanks to Charles Upham staff for their wonderful care of Ken and his family. Passed peacefully on Wednesday September 1, 2021 at the family homestead in Waitomo Caves with her girls, Raeta and Tamae by her side, aged 77 years. Loved mother-in-law of Barry Stronach and Julian Dimond. Treasured grandmother to Ariana, Kade, Kendra, SiÃ£n and Reuben. Adored Nana Joan to great-grandchildren Kyra, Ava and Mila. Where there is deep grief there is and always will be a great love. A cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Mum will be held at a later time in Invercargill when she returns to be with Nana Rae and Grandy.
